Hot news from Laker Land!
Today Los Angeles Lakers Center Andrew Bynum was rewarded for being injured all last season with a four-year contract extension worth $57.4 million. Bynum, whose career averages of 7.2 points and 5.6 rebounds was enough to earn the multi-million dollar deal, seemed pleased. "This has been a fantastic week for me so far: turning 21, winning our first two games of the season, and now getting this new contract signed."
Shortly after Bynum inked the new deal things turned ugly in an afternoon shoot around.... An NBALeeks insider has all the gory details. Be first to comment this article | Add as favourites (56) | Quote this article on your site | Views: 271 |

The Palace of Auburn Hills Detroit, MI Things seemed to be going fine for LeBron James and his Cavaliers Saturday night. Down only 16 at halftime to the Detroit Pistons, 33-49, the game was going just how the Cavs had planned. "We were really clicking in that first half man. I just felt in sync and was letting it go," LeBron said. "Sometimes your just feeling it." Then the unexpected... Dinner-time hour with...Dr. Kobe? This might be a believable idea ten years from now. Kobe Bryant, star guard for the NBA Los Angeles Lakers, recently penned a contract with the producers of "The Dr. Phil Show" Harpo Productions to televise a weekly 5-10 minute program titled "Chemistry with Kobe." Dear Mr. Stern,
My Major concern, as a senior citizen armature linguist is: The continued redundancy used
by NBA TV announcers who continually use the REDUNDANCY of call teams by their entire
names, specifically Marv Albert saying "The San Antonio Spurs are bringing the basket
ball up the basketball court". It goes without saying that those of us people watching
the game know that we are IN FACT watching the Spurs bring the ball up the court.
He is THE most prominent offender, BUT by no means THE ONLY one.
One would expect that the supposed professional announcer would refrain from this
'redundant redundancy'.
Thanks for 'listening'.
