What's in the mysterious black box? NBA Commisoner David Stern will be answering that question Wednesday morning before the draft. However, NBA Leeks has obtained an exclusive sneak peak!
That's right! Starting in the 2006-07 season the NBA will reduce the size of the ball by 50% as a continuing effort to increase scoring. The new ball will check in at 14.75" in circumference, exaclty half as big as the current basketball. In addition, the diameter of the rim will be increased from 18" to 20". When we asked about the drastic changes the Commissioner replied, "This is another step as we all work together to improve the game of basketball. The remarkable celebrity that NBA players hold empowers them to effect change. I'm having as good a time as I've ever had. All systems are go.” How this will effect NBA scoring, field goal percentages and even turnovers was largely ignored by Mr. Stern. He seemed more excited that his signature will be on the new ball twice. -NBALeeks Discuss this article on the forums. (0 posts) Add as favourites (50) | Quote this article on your site | Views: 4244
